Youth Work Ireland Cavan Monaghan has been focused on delivering quality services to the community for over 40 years. We deliver a variety of projects and services as well as operating a number of youth centres in the Cavan Monaghan region.
 

Youth Work Ireland Cavan Monaghan (YWICM) was established as Monaghan Youth Federation, a youth service for County Monaghan in 1985. Youth Work Ireland Cavan Monaghan is a member of the National Youth Federation, Youth Work Ireland. We believe all young people in counties Cavan & Monaghan should have access to well-structured needs based services and positive engagement with youth leaders, whether voluntary or paid in their communities.

 

In 2016, as an organisation, we reviewed our vision, mission and objectives. This was achieved through consultation with young people, staff, our funders and the wider community. Youth Work Ireland Cavan Monaghan is a responsive, adaptive and efficient organisation working in areas of primary need. We are needs led and young person’s participation is critical at all levels of the organisation and our work.

 

YWICM’s purpose is to support youth development through an informal education process enabling young people to build better local communities. We do this by providing a community based response to young people’s needs by offering them the opportunity to contribute to and participate in social education, artistic and recreational activities. We offer services through our youth cafés, youth information centres, youth clubs and detached youth work, where staff are out on the streets on key nights engaging with the young people, developing relationships and identifying their needs.

· Delivered by interested and effective staff and volunteers
