Youth Information
Our Youth Information Service provides a free and confidential service for young people and those surrounding them. We are the only Youth Information Centre in the region of Cavan and Monaghan providing a range of information to young people such as information about college, college finance (SUSI, grants, etc.), CV’s, interview skills, emotional support and health services. We also provide programmes for young people based specifically on their needs. We operate so that all the information that young people and parents or guardians who may also be seeking information for their young person is all available under the one roof.
Where are we based:
Across our two centres located in Castleblayney and Carrickmacross our team provides a confidential and free information service for young people and those surrounding them. Both centres provide a range of facilities to young people such as Wi-Fi, Xbox and PlayStation 5, pool tables, computer suites, cooking facilities and hang out spaces where young people can get creative with arts and crafts supplies or instruments etc.
Who we work with:
Our service is aimed at young people within the age bracket of 12 – 25 years old in Castleblayney and Carrickmacross.
Programmes
We have provided a range of programmes including LGBTQ+ groups, ECO clubs, Mental health, Wellbeing and Sexual Health programmes, Irish Youth Music Awards and a Youth Information Drop-in service. We also provide one to one support with SUSI (Student Universal Support Ireland) grants where we can assist in providing information about SUSI, help with form filling and advocacy. We also run a full schedule of Summer Programmes which include many different activities including sports, music, outdoor activities, arts and crafts and more.
